Suwannee River Regional Library Named PSC’s April Helping Hand

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is pleased to recognize the Suwannee River Regional Library System (SRRL) as its April Helping Hand for an ongoing partnership in the PSC’s Library Outreach program.

“We enjoy recognizing groups such as the SRRL for helping us distribute information about the Lifeline Assistance telephone discount program and simple-to-use tips to help consumers save money on utility bills through energy and water conservation,” said PSC Chairman Julie Brown.

Each month, the PSC highlights a partner agency or organization whose clients are eligible for the federal Lifeline program, need help reducing energy and water bills, and alerted to utility-related scams.  Through these PSC Helping Hand partnerships, the Commission shares vital information to help consumers stretch their resources to meet their monthly bills.

“We serve as an information source for our community and welcome the PSC’s information to help individuals and families needing discounted phone service to stay connected to friends, family, and essential community services and needing to save money on their utility bills,” said Amy Osborne, Public Services Manager, Suwannee River Regional Library. “Our community benefits from this easy access to PSC information on Lifeline, energy and water conservation, and utility bill payment assistance.”
