The Florida Public Service Commission will meet Monday, October 3 for a hearing on Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) petition to purchase Indiantown Cogeneration, L.P., a 330-megawatt coal-fired power plant, and terminate its existing power purchase agreement.
With several hearing issues stipulated, the hearing process has been streamlined and Commissioners may make a bench decision on the purchase. If approved, the transaction is expected to save FPL customers $100 million to $151 million over the next nine years.
The hearing is scheduled for the following time and location:
Monday, October 3, 2016
Betty Easley Conference Center
Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148)
