The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct a hearing on Thursday, October 27, 2016, on Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) proposed Settlement Agreement. The hearing will give parties an opportunity to present testimony and conduct cross-examination on the terms of the Settlement Agreement.
FPL filed its petition for a base rate increase with the PSC on March 15, 2016. Nine customer hearings were held in FPL’s service territory during June 2016, and an administrative hearing was conducted on August 22-26 and August 29-September 1, 2016. On October 6, 2016 FPL, the Office of Public Counsel, the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, and the Florida Retail Federation filed a joint motion for approval of the Settlement Agreement. According to the signatories, the proposed Settlement Agreement resolves all matters under consideration in FPL’s rate case.
FPL currently provides electric service to more than 4.8 million retail customers in all or parts of 35 Florida counties.
The hearing is set for the following time and location:
Thursday, October 27, 2016
Betty Easley Conference Center
Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148)
