Helping seniors “Get Connected and Stay Connected,” the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is attending the Madison County Elder Summit during this year’s National Lifeline Awareness Week on Wednesday, September 14, in Madison.
PSC staff will offer information about the Link-Up Florida and Lifeline Assistance telephone discount programs to help Florida’s seniors get a phone and connect with family and friends, as well as businesses and community services. Joining public utility commissions across the nation, the Florida PSC continues to spread the word and increase participation in the discount programs making telephone service affordable for the state’s low-income consumers. The event will be held at the following time and location: Wednesday, September 14, 2011 10:00 a.m. Madison County Senior Center 1161 SW Harvey Greene Drive at SR 14 Madison, Florida The Federal Communications Commission, the National Association of Regulated Utility Commissioners, and the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates are supporting this year’s National Lifeline Awareness Week, September 12-18.
