TALLAHASSEE —
The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold an evidentiary hearing on Monday, November 19 through Wednesday, November 21 on Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) proposed Settlement Agreement (agreement).
This hearing is a continuance of the PSC’s September technical hearing for FPL’s base rate increase request filed on March 19. FPL, the Florida Industrial Power Users Group, South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, and the Federal Executive Agencies signed the agreement submitted to the PSC on August 15. Commissioners are scheduled to consider the agreement on December 13. If the agreement is not approved, the Commission is scheduled to consider FPL's rate case request on January 23. FPL provides electric service to more than 4.5 million retail customers in all or parts of 35 Florida counties.
