Save Money With a
Clean Air Filter

Changing your home's air filter is a simple job that only takes a few minutes and usually requires few, if any, tools.  Filters should be replaced monthly for greatest efficiency and effectiveness.  It's a good idea to purchase several filters at one time so you don't have to make a special trip to the store each month to buy a new filter.  Make it a habit to change the filter each month when you pay your utility bill.

All of the benefits of a clean air filter may not be readily apparent:

  • The American Lung Association points out that the dust we see flying around in that sunbeam coming through the window is made up of pollen, plant and mold spores, pet dander, lint, bacteria, and other contaminants.  Breathing these particles can result in irritation of the eyes and/or respiratory tissues.
  • A clean filter saves you money.  The heating or cooling system moves the air more easily so both the compressor and fan run less and save electricity.  Since the compressor and fan are running less, they last longer and have to be replaced less often.
  • Your home stays cleaner and you don't have to dust as often.
