With many activities affecting the nation’s telecommunications industry, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Mignon Clyburn has graciously accepted the Florida Public Service Commission’s (PSC) invitation to provide an FCC update on November 29, 2016, following its 9:30 a.m. Special Commission Conference.
Serving on the FCC since 2013, Commissioner Clyburn is expected to discuss pending rules to modernize the Lifeline Assistance telephone discount program, the Connecting Communities initiative, the Solutions 2020 conference, and other issues. Commissioner Clyburn is serving her second FCC term. Prior to her FCC service, she served on the Public Service Commission of South Carolina for 11 years. A longtime champion of consumers and a defender of the public interest, Commissioner Clyburn is a strong advocate for enhanced accessibility in communications for disabled citizens and has fought to promote strong competition across all communications platforms.
