TALLAHASSEE —
The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a hearing on Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 27 to determine the need for Duke Energy Florida, Inc.’s (DEF) proposed Citrus County Combined Cycle Power Plant. The hearing will continue on Wednesday, September 3, if necessary.
On May 27, 2014, DEF petitioned the PSC for a determination of need for its state-of-the-art, natural gas-fired, 1,820 megawatts (MW) Citrus County plant that is expected to be completed in December 2018. The PSC will also hear testimony and evidence on DEF’s Suwannee Simple Cycle and Hines Chillers Power Uprate projects.
