TALLAHASSEE —
Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) is teaming up with the Jacksonville Jaguars to remind consumers to “Suit Up and Stay Protected” against scammers during National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 1–7. “No football player would ever take the game field without his uniform and protective gear,” said PSC Chairman Art Graham. “Consumers, too, should ‘suit up’ with education and information to recognize fraud and protect identity, bank and billing accounts, and property.”
To help consumers stay protected by staying informed, PSC staff will make presentations on Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5. Consumers will also receive tips on energy and water conservation and information about the Lifeline Assistance telephone discount program. By staying informed, consumers can “tackle fraud.” The events are scheduled for the following times and locations: Wednesday, March 4, 2015 10:00 a.m. Joseph Meyerhoff Senior Center 3081 Taft Street North Lauderdale, FL 33021 and 11:30 a.m. Austin Hepburn Senior Center 750 NW 8th Ave Hallandale Beach, FL 33009 And, on Thursday, March 5, 2015 10:00 a.m. Miramar Senior Center 6700 Miramar Parkway Miramar, FL 33023 For additional information, visit www.floridapsc.com.
