TALLAHASSEE —
Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) is teaming up with the Jacksonville Jaguars to remind consumers to “Suit Up and Stay Protected” against scammers during National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 1–7. “No football player would ever take the game field without his uniform and protective gear,” said PSC Chairman Art Graham. “Consumers, too, should ‘suit up’ with education and information to recognize fraud and protect identity, bank and billing accounts, and property.”
To help consumers stay protected by staying informed, PSC staff will make presentations on Wednesday, March 4 in LaBelle and Punta Gorda. Consumers will also receive tips on energy and water conservation and information about the Lifeline Assistance telephone discount program. By staying informed, consumers can “tackle fraud.” The events are scheduled for the following times and locations: Wednesday, March 4, 2015 10:30 a.m. L. J. Nobles Senior Center 475 E. Cowboy Way LaBelle, FL 33935 and 12 noon Friendship Centers of Charlotte County Rebecca Neal Owens Center, Harbour Heights 27420 Voyageur Drive Punta Gorda, FL 33983 For additional information, visit www.floridapsc.com.
