TALLAHASSEE —
During Older Americans Month in May, to help seniors stay protected by staying informed, the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is hosting educational sessions to help seniors save money on utility bills and avoid scams.
“The Older Americans Month theme, ‘Get into the Act,’ is appropriate as we continue our outreach and participation with agencies ‘actively’ serving seniors,” said PSC Chairman Art Graham. “Through interacting with Florida’s seniors we help raise their awareness to the tools that can enhance their well-being.” PSC staff will make presentations on Wednesday, May 6 in Ft. Myers, where seniors will receive tips on energy and water conservation, information about the Lifeline Assistance telephone discount program, and ways to protect themselves from scammers. The events are scheduled for the following times and locations: Wednesday, May 6, 2015 9:30-10:30 a.m Hatton B. Rogers Apartments 4250 Hatton Rogers Lane N. Ft. Myers, FL 33903 and 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Sandpiper Run 2075 Collier Avenue Ft. Myers, FL 33901 For additional information, visit www.floridapsc.com. Follow the PSC on Twitter, @floridapsc.
