TALLAHASSEE —
The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will consider proposals from a variety of interested parties on November 9 on how to expand Florida’s renewable generating industry.
The five Commissioners will hold a public hearing on rules to encourage the development of additional renewable generation in Florida. Renewable generators produce power from solid waste, plant matter, solar, and other replenishing energy sources. Renewable generators were asked earlier to provide specific rule language for discussion and consideration by the commissioners at the hearing. The hearing is part of a continuing PSC effort to promote additional renewable energy generation in the State. “We want to make alternative energy sources a more viable part of Florida’s power generation portfolio,” said Chairman Lisa Polak Edgar. The hearing will be held at the following date, time, and location:
Thursday, November 9, 2006 9:30 a.m. Betty Easley Conference Center, Room 148 4075 Esplanade Way Tallahassee, Florida
