FLORIDA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION CONSIDERS ITEMS OF INTEREST AT UPCOMING AGENDA CONFERENCE

ITEM 4: DOCKET NO. 040763-TP – REQUEST FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS FOR RELAY SERVICE, BEGINNING IN JUNE 2005, FOR THE HEARING AND SPEECH IMPAIRED, AND OTHER IMPLEMENTATION MATTERS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE FLORIDA TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACCESS SYSTEM ACT OF 1991 - The Commission will consider a staff recommendation for extending the contract for providing relay services to Florida consumers. 

ITEM 5: DOCKET NO. 010977-TL – STATE CERTIFICATION OF RURAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIERS PURSUANT TO 47 C.F.R 54.314. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation to certify five telecommunications carriers for high-cost universal service support.

ITEM 8: DOCKET NO. 060658-EI – PETITION ON BEHALF OF CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO REQUIRE PROGRESS ENERGY FLORIDA, INC. TO REFUND CUSTOMERS $143 MILLION. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation addressing whether or not Progress made prudent and reasonable coal purchases from 1996 to 2005.
