Customer Meeting Scheduled to Discuss Petition for Rate Increase by Indiantown Gas Company

TALLAHASSEE — The staff of the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct a customer meeting on Thursday, February 5, 2004 to accept comments from consumers about a proposed rate increase submitted by Indiantown Gas Company, Inc. (Indiantown or utility).  In addition, this meeting will provide the utility’s customers with an opportunity to comment about service quality issues relevant to Indiantown.

Indiantown provides service to customers in the city of Indiantown, to customers in the unincorporated community of Booker Park in Martin County, and to customers in adjacent territories.

While the proposed increase to residential customers will vary based on therm usage, a residential customer of Indiantown who uses an average of 20 therms per month would pay an additional $2.60 per month under the proposed rates.

All customers of Indiantown are invited to attend the meeting, which will be held at the following time and location:

Thursday, February 5, 2004

6:00 p.m.

Indiantown Middle School Auditorium

16303 Southwest Farm Road

Indiantown, FL

PSC staff is currently scheduled to file its rate recommendation to the Commission on April 22, 2004, and the Commission's consideration and vote on this matter is currently scheduled for May 4, 2004.
