Customer Meetings Scheduled To Discuss Application For New Customer Classifications And Rate Restructuring By Central Florida Gas Company — Florida Division of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation

TALLAHASSEE — The staff of the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC or Commission) will conduct four customer meetings on Wednesday, December 8 and Thursday, December 9, 2004, to accept comments and answer questions from consumers about a proposal for new customer classifications and a rate restructuring plan submitted by Central Florida Gas Company (Central Florida or utility).  The proposal will not affect the rates of existing customers who use less than 3,000 therms of natural gas per year.

Central Florida provides natural gas service to approximately 11,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout central and north Florida.

All customers of this utility are invited to attend the meetings, which will be held at the following times and locations:

PSC staff is currently scheduled to file its recommendation to the Commission concerning this proposal on January 6, 2005.  The Commission is currently scheduled to consider the staff’s recommendation and vote on this matter at its January 18, 2005, Agenda Conference.
