Florida Public Service Commission Considers Items of Interest at Upcoming Agenda Conference

TALLAHASSEE — The following items are among those scheduled for consideration by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at the July 15, 2008 Agenda Conference:

ITEM 4: Docket No. 080148-EIPetition for determination of need for Levy Units 1 and 2 nuclear power plants, by Progress Energy Florida, Inc. The Commission will consider a staff recommendation to approve the construction of two nuclear-fueled generating units in Levy County. The proposed units would contribute 2,200 megawatts of electric generation.

ITEM 5: Docket No. 080281-EIPetition for approval of Solar Energy Projects for Recovery through Environmental Cost Recovery Clause, by Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). The Commission will consider a staff recommendation to approve eligibility for cost recovery, pursuant to 366.92(4), F.S., for FPL’s three proposed solar projects located in Martin and DeSoto counties and at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
