PSC Chairman Helps Kick Off Black History Month in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE — In recognition of the importance and celebration of Black History Month, Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Braulio L. Baez will participate in the “kick off” of Family and Health Fair Day at the Florida Department of Education (DOE), 325 West Gaines Street, Tallahassee on Saturday, February 21, 2004, starting at 10:00 a.m.  This event, which is free to the public, will provide families the opportunity to participate in a book fair, important health screenings and an educational tour of the DOE’s Black History in Education Exhibit.

In addition, PSC staff will be on hand to provide brochures to participants including important information about the Lifeline Assistance and Link-Up Florida programs, which offer consumer discounts on qualified subscribers’ telephone bills.  Brochures are available in both English and Spanish.
