TALLAHASSEE —
After hearing oral arguments, Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) voted to hold a hearing to take supplemental evidence on Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) proposed Settlement Agreement.
Today’s Commission action puts the PSC’s rate case schedule on hold for FPL’s requested increase, originally filed on March 19. The additional dates to take supplemental evidence on the agreement are still being determined. If the Commission denies the Settlement Agreement after the hearing, the original rate case will proceed under a modified schedule. FPL, the Florida Industrial Power Users Group, South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, and the Federal Executive Agencies signed the agreement submitted to the PSC on August 15. FPL provides electric service to more than 4.5 million retail customers in all or parts of 35 Florida counties. For additional information, visit www.floridapsc.com.
