Case Background

On January 21, 2010, Tampa Electric Company (TECO) filed a petition for Commission approval of revisions to its Lighting Tariff Sheet Nos. 6.805, 6.806, and 6.810.  The requested revisions will offer several new Metal Halide (MH) fixtures under the Lighting Rate Schedule (LS-1).  The Commission has jurisdiction over this matter pursuant to Sections 366.06 (1), Florida Statutes.

Discussion of Issues

Issue 1

Should the Commission suspend TECO's revised lighting tariff sheets Nos. 6.805, 6.806, and 6.810 for proposed new Metal Halide fixtures under Rate Schedule LS-1?

Recommendation

 Yes.  (A. Roberts)

Staff Analysis

Staff is recommending that the tariffs be suspended to allow staff sufficient time to review the petition and gather all pertinent information in order to present the Commission with an informed recommendation on the tariff proposal.

Pursuant to Section 366.03(3), Florida Statutes, the Commission may withhold consent to the operation of all or any portion of the new rate schedules, delivering to the utility requesting such increase a reason or written statement of good cause for doing so within 60 days. Staff believes the reason stated above is good cause consistent with the requirement of Section 366.06(3), Florida Statutes.
